Wow, it has been so long since I have updated this blog that it took me about 30 minutes to remember the user name and password! I have not been here since June, that is about 3 months.
But the news has certainly not slowed down any. There is still death, destruction, crime, lies, and brutality. I was watching the news with my daughter the other night and she shook her head and said, “How can you watch this all the time, it is so depressing.”. She is absolutely correct the news is very depressing, but we do not live in a bubble and we can not be ignorant to what goes on around us.
Ignorance is NOT bliss in today’s society. WE NEED TO STAY INFORMED!

Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook will donate $100 Million to Newark New Jersey public schools. Folks are complaining and wondering about his motives. Really?? Who cares! The schools are getting much needed money!

Prominent Atlanta Pastor, Bishop Eddie Long accused of coercion and sexual misconduct by 3 young men. Well, it is what it is, keep praying and let God handle the rest.

Denver Broncos wide receiver, Kenny McKinley was found dead in his Colorado home. The investigation is on-going but the reports are saying that a self-inflicted gunshot wound killed him. What could be so bad with your life that at the ripe old age of 23 you want to kill yourself … besides being bored to death in Colorado?

The one thing I HATE to hear is, “The devil made me do it”. WOW! OK, Let me be very clear about this folks, THE DEVIL CANNOT MAKE YOU DO A DARN THING!! Any and everything you do is because YOU CHOSE TO DO IT! Even if someone holds a gun to your head YOU make the choice to get shot or not. EVERYTHING WE DO IS A CHOICE!
Another thing… BEFORE you start accusing, judging, agreeing or disagreeing, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, get ALL of the FACTS!
God sits high and looks low, Let GOD judge, NOT YOU!

Domestic Violence, Wife Beheaded…

Huummmm, Man beheads wife. Yeah, not really a headline you hear every day but it happened! Domestic violence is certainly out of control. According to CNN Muzzammil Hassan beheaded his wife, Aasiya Hassan. Read the story HERE.
Aasiya Zubair Hassan age 37, wife of Muslim television executive and founder of Bridges TV, Muzzammil Hassan, age 44 was found beheaded in the Buffalo NY television studio were her husband worked. Mr. Hassan is in the Erie County holding center, with no bail set and no attorney on record as of yet. Aasiya had filed for a divorce last month from her husband. According to various reports the eight year marriage has been filled with physical confrontations. The couple has two children ages 4 and 6 years old and Mr. Hassan has a 17 and 18 year old from a previous marriage. Aasiya was working toward her MBA degree and would have graduated on March 6th.
Aasiya Hassan had obtained an order of protection from her estranged husband, but that obviously did not help her in this instance. The Hassans, both Muslims from Pakistan felt that Muslims were not being portrayed in a positive way which was the inspiration behind the television station, which is being reported as being Aasiya’s idea. In 2004, when the station was started Mr Hassan said,
“Every day on television we are barraged by stories of a ‘Muslim extremist, militant, terrorist, or insurgent,’” Hassan said in the 2004 release. “But the stories that are missing are the countless stories of Muslim tolerance, progress, diversity, service and excellence that Bridges TV hopes to tell.”
I don’t think this beheading is going to do much for the unfavorable image of Muslims…
Governor Paterson Wants An Obesity Tax

Governor David Paterson of New York proposes an OBESITY TAX, a tax on sugared drinks like soft drinks. He says, “nearly one in every four New Yorkers under the age of 18 is obese”.
He also said, “Just as the cigarette tax has helped reduce the number of smokers and smoking-related deaths, a tax on highly caloric, non-nutritional beverages can help reduce the prevalence of obesity”.

It is…FRIDAY!! Which is my favorite day of the week because I get to post my “Old School Friday” Picks! I Love Old School Friday so much that I have decided to supply four selections (well actually 3 songs, but I did one song in 2 versions).
