Crash – The Movie

Have you ever seen the movie “Crash“? This movie won 3 Academy Awards and is co-produced by Don Cheadle, who happens to be one of my favorite actors!

I am currently in classes given by Cornell University to earn a Family Development Credential. In class we are currently discussing cultural sensitivity, racial biases, and barriers, so today in class we viewed the movie “Crash“. This is a very racially charged, stereotype driven movie, which aims to explore the issues of racial tolerance and racial intolerance, and show to the world all the prejudices that we carry around us like a shield knowingly and unknowingly. I had rented the movie twice previously but for whatever reason I never sat down to watch it.

So I finally got to see it today and let me just say it is a very emotionally charged and draining movie. It was also the cause of a very interesting “discussion” after we watched it! I do see why the movie won 3 Oscars!

If you have never seen it I would suggest that you watch it. It is rated R, so put the kids to bed first.

‘CRASH’ is definitely one of the best orchestrated movies to ever come out. Its ability to tackle the issues of racism and stereotype was really well executed. The movie also showed that mankind is actually capable of caring for and about each other in times of crisis.Pretty much everyone should see this movie, especially those that come from a background that is rooted in racism or misrepresentation of someone’s or a cultures character.Marcus LANGFORD

This movie is deep and one with a message that stays with you for days. I’m not a supporter of Rated R movies, but certainly pushed the rating aside to view this flick. As a Christian movie reviewer, this was beautifully executed. They had humanity holding up a mirror. We all need work.Oh, you’re on the blogroll! 😉

This movie is one of my favorites because it made you think…and it was real. I agree with everyone else that says it should be required viewing…
