It is another slow blogging day so I was just traveling around the internet catching up on some World news and decided to share some of the news that I found…

Deadly Quake Strikes Northeastern Japan.
Six people were killed and at least 144 hurt today when a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck northeastern Japan, officials said. Several landslides covered roads, some highways buckled, a few bridges collapsed and bullet trains stopped, but two nuclear power plants in the region were not affected, officials said. [CNN]

Iowa’s Raging Cedar River Forces 20,000 From Homes…

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Days after it rose out of its banks on its way to record flooding in Cedar Rapids, the Cedar River has forced at least 20,000 people from their homes, officials said Saturday. [Associated Press]

Hundreds of Taliban fighters captured over the past six years escaped late Friday after militants attacked the main prison in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, authorities said. [CNN]

Woman, 74, Accussed Of Smuggling Heroin In Luggage…

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) — A 74-year-old woman faces charges of smuggling heroin after $180,000 worth of the drug was found in her luggage Friday when she arrived at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, authorities said. [CNN]

Newsman Tim Russert Dies At 58…
Tim Russert, who became one of America’s leading political journalists as the host of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” died Friday, the network said. He was 58. [CNN]

Mugabe Vows To Fight Traitors…
President Robert Mugabe has vowed that the main opposition party will never lead Zimbabwe and said he was prepared to “go to war” for his country. [BBC]

    I NEVER understand how someone allows themselves to be imprisoned for ANY period of time…I mean, what the heck!? And what the heck is gran’ma doin’ traffickin’ heroin…LOL! I am sorry for laughin’, but that is funny! Mr. Russert…what a great lost :-[:::Marcus LANGFORD:::

    When I heard of Tim Russert’s death, I cried. He was a genuine and caring man with good values, and that shined through. He’ll be missed.
