R.I.P – Eartha Mae Kitt

Whew! What a day! It was fabulous (minus my little Princess not being here)! It was full of Fun, Family, Fellowship, and Food!
It has been a very long day, starting at 6:45am when I got up to make our traditional Christmas morning breakfast and culminating with dinner at my sister’s house. But I will post pictures and details later. I hoped on the computer just to check my emails and to quickly scroll through the news and blog highlights that I subscribe to.

Sadly, I came across the news of the death of the multi-talented singer, dancer, and actress Eartha Kitt. Needless to say I was shocked. She died of colon cancer. She was 81 and of course that is a very ripe old age so her passing should not have been shocking to me but it was. Eartha Kitt had the type of BOLD personality that made her ageless so I think I was more shocked to find out that she was 81 than to find out that she had passed away.

When ever I think of Eartha Kitt I think of the ultimate Catwoman or of her rendition of Santa Baby, or of her role as Yzma in The Emperor’s New Groove (1 & 2), or her in Boomarang! I NEVER think of Eartha Kitt and think OLD! That just never crosses my mind. Over-sexed? maybe; scary? definitely; talented? -yes, extremely! But never old!
What a great, great loss to the entertainment community…
She brought more than 6 DECADES of entertainment! WOW, what talent!

this news really shocked me because i had no idea ms. kitt suffered from colon cancer.this is the kinda thing that baffles me about the government. we can blow money on this war, but there is still no “known” cure for cancers-that really irks me.
