The Mockery Of Marriage.

What does the word “MARRIAGE” mean to you? Do you believe in the sanctity of marriage? The more I look around at today’s society, the more I see a blatant disregard for the vows, sacredness, and the truth of marriage. In today’s society people are quick to rush into marriage and even quicker to rush back out.
Gone are the days when people had dating, courting, or engagements. People are no longer getting to know each other. They jump into sex and if it feels, smells, taste good then they are talking marriage. Men are being led by what makes their penis throb and women are being led by what makes them not be lonely.

Marriage in today’s society is often an arrangement based on circumstances, money, obligation, or pressure. People can feel pressure to marry from friends, parents, baby mamas, or even society. This is not love or even a reason to marry. A marriage is a sacrifice that goes far beyond what people are willing to give. Marriage is not about money, power, status, fame, or sex. Loving someone enough to marry them means being willing and able to give up an individual life in order to live a life that is NOT all about you!

Ephesians 5:25 says – Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,

Marriage has become a mockery, a mere sport. Marriage is no longer built to last. Today’s marriages are full of INFIDELITY, INSECURITY, INSUFFICIENCY, and other nonsense but not enough of what holds a marriage together like LOVE, TRUST, RESPECT, and HONESTY. Look at the tons of people who jump in and out of marriage. Look at the news headlines. I read an article yesterday that named the 9 Shortest Celebrity Marriages. The fact that there is enough short marriages to form this type of list is shameful.

The point of this post is simple… Bring back the love, honor, and respect of marriage. It is not a game or a fashion accessory. It is a sacred act that should not be entered into lightly.
Before you say I DO, think about it

Even though many people are not pro marriage, I still think that is still important.

Good read. Although I've never married I too believe that it speaks of more than whatever disgrace has been placed upon its definition. I want to say it's due to "celebrities" exchanging vows. Then again, there are celebrity couples who appear to honor vows. So that simply cannot be the case.It might just be a case of Earth having entered its last days.
