I thought about this today…
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
ALL I can say is THANK YOU JESUS…

WHAT BLESSINGS ARE YOU CARRYING!?

Why is it that some people MAINLY Christians feel that because you claim to be a Christian your life should be all rainbows, ponies, and roses?? Roses stink by the way.. but I digress! The life of a Christian is anything but easy! We are TESTED, TRIALED, and TEMPTED daily! If YOU are NOT getting the 3T treatment than maybe you should re-evaluate your standing with God. That is not to say that God is the one sending the trials your way because that is not always true. Some test and trials God sends. Some tests and trials God USES! Yes, God will ALLOW you to be tested. In Luke, chapter 22, Jesus tells Simon that Satan has asked to sift him (Simon) like wheat. In the book of Job God allowed Satan to test, tempt, and attack Job in numerous ways. Job lost EVERYTHING! He lost his belongings, his house, his land, and Job even lost his friends and his family. His very character was attacked, BUT YET, Job praised God!
When all was said and done, Job STILL in spite of all the TESTS, TRIALS, and TEMPTATIONS, amidst all the destruction, death, and devastation……. JOB STILL PRAISED GOD!
Are you being sifted like wheat? What have YOU lost? What Trials, Tests, or Temptations have you gone through, lived through, going through? Will you STILL praise God?
I have good news for you Job came through his tests, trials, and temptations. He was tried and found worthy in Gods eyes. Everything that Job lost, God replaced, multiplied, and magnified in Job’s latter days!
Job 42:12-17 tells of the increase that God blessed Job with.
12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. 13 He also had seven sons and three daughters. 14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch. 15 In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. 17 So Job died, old and full of days.
So, there you have it. After all the Tests, Trials, and Temptations, GOD BLESSED JOB ABUNDANTLY!
Be blessed beloved, there is a light at the end of that long dark tunnel!

When you look at me what do you see? When you look at your neighbor what do you see? Have you ever bothered to really consider the people around you? When you run into someone on the street and you say, “Hey! How are you?” do you actually really care? More often than not you do not want to hear about someones bad back, or their struggles with their landlord, or how they are having problems on the job. All you really want to hear is the perfunctory reply of, “I’m fine and you?” They probably want to hear the same from you.
If all we are receiving from our neighbors, friends, and even family is the customary, perfunctory answers and replies, then how are we effectively communicating with one another? If we are not effectively communicating with one another than how can we show LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER as the bible tells us to do? 1 Peter 4:8 tells us “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins”. As a matter of fact, loving one another is so important to God that it is mentioned numerous times in the bible in 1 John, 1 Peter, Romans, Galatians, and in 1 Thessalonians.
I do not believe that God wants us to just look AT someone, look AROUND someone, or talk AT someone. I believe God wants us to actually SEE ONE ANOTHER, LISTEN TO ONE ANOTHER, and genuinely LOVE ONE ANOTHER. We must learn to look at someone and SEE them the way GOD SEES THEM. So lets start working on that, okay?
Soooooo, how are YOU today?

Are you hiding? People often hide. They hide from other people, they hide from responsibilities, they hide from their issues, they hide from themselves but most importantly and perhaps the most damaging is when they hide from God. Or, correction, when they TRY to hide from God. Since God is all seeing and all knowing, you can never really hide from God now can you?
Fear makes us do stupid things. when we make a mistake instead of running to God, who is the only one that can help us, and correct our mess, we run in the opposite direction and then we hide.
God knows all of your issues. He alone knows ALL about you. God is the only one who knows what hurts, embarrassments, pain, and insecurities you harbor in the inner most recesses of your soul. God is the only one that can heal that hurt and take away your pain, so why are you hiding?
That facade you put on for friends, co-workers, family, and the world is only a mask to hide your inner turmoil. People may look at you and think that you have it all together. They may think that you are the most solid person they know, nothing ruffles you, you are the ROCK to everyone around you. And yet late at night, when you are all alone, you feel empty, you feel despair, and you do not know what to do. You have spent so much of your life being the rock for others that you have in essence hidden yourself FROM yourself! You have no clue how to access the REAL YOU because it has been so long hidden.
Times like this is when you should run TO GOD not hide FROM GOD! Psalms 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” In other words ONLY GOD can fix you, heal you, comfort you, restore you, or strengthen you.
It is time to stop running from Him, stop hiding from Him, and open up your heart and EMBRACE HIM!

As part of my action plans for 2012, I have started a new reading plan for the bible. This will be my third time reading the entire bible all the way through!
So as I was reading it dawned on me or better yet, the “Holy Spirit” revealed to me that DEFERRAL is an automatic and very natural habit to our flesh. Do you ever wonder why sometimes when confronted with an accusation or a problem your first reaction is to put it on someone else, to defer it? Perhaps, deferment comes so natural to us because it is in our blood. There are things that we do naturally, instinctively, and then there are other things we have to make a conscious decision to do. When confronted we have to consciously decide to tell the truth, or to own up to what we have done and said, we have to decide to take ownership for our actions. Deferment is so easy, so natural, some people do it without even thinking about it.
In Genesis chapter 3 verse 12 Adam says, “… the woman whom YOU gave to be with me, SHE gave me of the tree, and I ate”. So basically what Adam did was defer his action, first to God, by saying the woman that YOU gave me, as if to say well look God, YOU gave me this chick so it is YOUR fault!
And if that was not bad enough Adam then deferred to Eve, as if to say, SHE gave it to me so it was HER fault!
When Eve ate from the tree of Good and Evil, she turned and gave some to Adam, who was with her! Adam could have refused, he could have reminded Eve that it was forbidden, he could have smacked that fruit out of her hand and ran, yelling for God to intervene but HE DID NOT! He ate. So when God asked Adam, “Have YOU eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you SHOULD NOT EAT”? (Gen 3:11). Adam passive aggressively put the blame else where. He did not lie, he just chose to tell HIS VERSION of the truth! Adam was there, Adam KNEW what God said, and yet Adam ate. And after he ate, he deferred!
So in order to be successful in our walk with God we must put off the natural man, stop doing and saying what comes naturally and start doing and saying what is pleasing to God. Remember the natural man does not receive things of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14).
Be Blessed All!
